Matching over 600,000 people with a family doctor or nurse practitioner since 2023. Opening 48 Urgent and Primary Care Centres, and building or expanding 30 new hospitals. Recruiting over 500 US doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers, with thousands more applications in the queue. A housing plan that has brought starting rents down by 12% in two years. Taking on speculators with the Speculation Tax and Airbnb restrictions, unlocking tens of thousands more homes for people. Raising the minimum wage to $18.25, higher than any other province in Canada. Bringing housing prices down by 9% over three years. Creating thousands of good jobs through fast-tracking infrastructure projects. Investing in clean energy projects to keep costs down and build a stronger economy. Creating tens of thousands of new school seats for K-12 students. Adopting permanent daylight saving time. Making communities safer by investing in the resources the police need to stop organized crime and extortion. Opening 900 new child care spaces this year alone. Opening the new stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge to replace the Pattullo Bridge and keeping it toll-free. Expanding access to nasal naloxone, which has helped reduce overdose deaths. Breaking down interprovincial trade barriers and opening new international markets to reduce BC’s economic dependence on the US. Significantly reducing wait times for drug detox services. Negotiating historic treaties with the Kitselas and K’ómoks First Nations. The Look West jobs plan, which has helped BC’s economy grow faster than expected and has attracted $88 billion worth of proposed projects.

What concerns you the most about the BC Conservatives?

Their extreme social views like racism, anti-Indigenous dog-whistling, homophobia, and transphobia. Their plan to make drastic cuts to healthcare and schools. Their proposal to cancel the speculation tax and repeal David Eby’s small multi-unit density changes, driving housing costs up again. Their plan to hike costs, like privatizing ICBC, which would double car insurance. Repeatedly campaigning to repeal the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (DRIPA). Their plan to restore BC Liberal tax breaks for the wealthiest 1% and massive corporations. Their constant chaos and infighting, and attempts to overturn the 2024 election. Their anti-union views, like ending Community Benefit Agreements, ripping up contracts, and zero wage mandates for public sector workers. Their endorsements from anti-choice advocacy groups.
