Do you support a higher minimum wage for workers?
BC has the highest minimum wage of all the provinces at $15.65 per hour. Our government has raised it several times over the past few years to benefit more than 400,000 British Columbians, often women, immigrants, and youth.
You know who doesn’t like the higher minimum wage? BC Liberal leader Kevin Falcon. He called raising the minimum wage a bad decision. And, last time the BC Liberals were in government, he was part of the team that implemented a $6 an hour training wage. We all remember workers saying “six bucks sucks.” It’s clear — Kevin Falcon doesn’t care about BC workers or their families.
Raising the minimum wage is one of the ways our BC NDP government is making life more affordable for our lowest-paid workers, who shouldn’t be left behind.
