We’re expanding the speculation and vacancy tax to more communities
Everyone should have a place to live, so we’re making sure that more people have a home.
Good news — the study on the housing speculation and vacancy tax revealed that 20,000 homes were created for British Columbians. This means more families and individuals were able to find somewhere to live because those properties weren’t left vacant by housing speculators.
Now, our government is expanding the tax to more municipalities, so that more people will be able to find stable housing in places where accessing homes is an issue.
While our BC NDP government keeps creating ways for people to find housing, the BC Liberals complain about the tax. They would get rid of it to help out their rich developer friends — which would mean nearly 20,000 people and families would no longer have a place to live.
