David Eby will deliver more affordable child care
Child care fees in BC are already down by more than half. David Eby’s plan protects those savings and opens more spaces where families need them:
- ✓ 7,200 new spaces at school: before- and after-school care right on school grounds, backed by $80 million
- ✓ A hard fee cap for every family: a universal cap on child care fees
- ✓ More affordable spaces across BC, working with the federal government and the child care sector
- ✓ Better pay for early childhood educators, including a provincial wage grid
Real progress: fees cut from $47 to $19 a day on average · saving families about $7,200 a year · 64,000 new child care spaces
The Conservatives won’t say if they’d scrap the cap on child care fee increases, or what they’d cut to pay for their promises. Working families would pay the price.
